WHY WE SERVE

BFCDC FamilyBetter Future Community Development Corporation (BFCDC) has explored the home ownership situation in Shelby, Davidson County and the greater state of Tennessee, only to discover that of the total populations, nearly 40% of residents do not own their own home.

The majority of these families are living in rented facilities which, according to reports, these housing units are below standard and codes.  80% of residents living in Shelby, Davidson County are employed, but may still earn income at or below the poverty level.
